Residence BA Amsterdam
A complete renovation transforms a classic Amsterdam School-style brick house located in the 19th-century ring around the city center of Amsterdam. The refurbishment includes opening up the back facade over two floors, creating a revitalized living and dining area on the first two levels. The once shaded ground floor is now a luminous and expansive kitchen and dining space. The renovation enhances the connection with the green garden, outdoor area, and open sky, and so brightens up the living experience.

The void between the kitchen and the living create daylight, views and spaciousness
Barbara Dujardin | Partner architect
A significant feature of the renovation is the novel void that connects the living room and kitchen, creating a sense of openness and continuity. The remaining two floors accommodate the family's bedrooms, while the basement has been transformed into a new office space. The result is a harmonious blend of historical charm and contemporary living, offering a comfortable and functional home that suits the needs of the family.
