Residence TC Bloemendaal
A state monumental building transformed into luxury family home. Overcoming years of vacancy and neglect, the structure underwent a comprehensive renovation, with the primary goal of preserving its stunning spatial character. Despite the loss of many original interior details, the renovation focused on maintaining the building's stunning spatial charactery. The new layout was carefully crafted within the existing façades, respecting the original symmetry. A harmonious balance between open and closed spaces was achieved, providing intimacy in private areas while fostering spaciousness in the main living spaces.
While respecting the monumental spatial qualities, we created intimate and warm spaces that suit family living
Willem Wopereis | Principal architect

Within the main volume, additional floors were introduced to accommodate a series of bedrooms and an open play area in the attic. A large void above the dining area ensures the retention of the loft-like character. The living room occupies the double-height space adorned with original arched windows, contributing to a unique and atmospheric ambiance. A striking spiral staircase, now connects to the music studio, which overlooks the flexible living room. This space serves a dual purpose, functioning primarily as a large family room and secondly as a private music venue.
